I have 3 email addresses (that I use to get coupons or whatever asks for an email address so that they can send you a link or sign up for an offer) and I also live in an apartment (so thats 1 address). I sometimes us my parents address (address #2) to get more freebies. (Because most say 1 per household) So that way I get double the freebie.

When I was around 8-yrs-old (before the advent of the internet) my older brother and his best friend started a fake company to get anything free via snail-mail. They used the first initials of their names and called their company J&R Inc. I would help them fill out their name and address on the ‘give us your information’ cards found in the back of magazines or in flyers. Our goal was to get on as many mailing lists as possible to get sent mail, because ‘getting mail is fun!’ (especially for kids!) For a while my brother and I were getting 3-times the mail that my parents were getting! My brother’s friend’s parents made him stop after a while (because they were frustrated with the amount of ‘junk’ mail piling up, but my brother and I kept going until we grew out if it. We’re still getting mail to J&R Inc. to this day, and it’s been almost 20 years!

I have gone as far as to sign up all of my roomates for free samples of things I like, using up to 5 different e-mail addresses, and different ways of writing our address to try and make them different “households” (Apt. 5, #5,etc.) – when they come in the mail I say “Oh, how cool… you don’t want this, do you?”. I have bought $9 worth of “trial” vitamins in order to try and win a free XBox 360 – didn’t work, and still waiting to get those vitamins…

I’ve walked way out of my way to do a promotional “test drive” in Chicago (they drive you around the block) and when it was done, they give you a free Gourmet cook book. It was totally worth it!

    3. If I got a coupon I copy it, I go to different stores and use the same coupon (sometimes works, sometimes doesn’t).

The one thing I’ve done was set my alarm for O Dark 30 in the morning just so I can be the first one to apply for all the freebies. I’m truly addicted to freebies and would stay up all night looking for more. I lack sleep because of this.

reading all the other comments, i see that we are all basically doing the same thing (multiple e-mail addresses; home, office, other family memebers and even p.o. box addresses/and or names; copying coupons etc.). and i am “guilty” of doing the same for that “almighty” freebie!
so, i really don’t have any new revelation to add, but i just want to try and win this contest! lol
LOVE freegrabber – thanx for this site!

Wow, the measures some people go to for freebies! I love freebies, too. Sometimes I’ll go to the Walmart ones and see if I can get another one a few days later. It has worked a couple times, but not every time.

  22. Lifesaver said,

    Wrote on October 8, 2007 @ 1:14 pm

No drastic measures here. I just check this site frequently, along with a few others. I have driven across town to get free items off Craigslist. I don’t know if that would be considered drastic, though.

but if i want more than one freebie. i send one to my grandmas house.

one time. i sent it to my neighbors house. and when i heard the mailman/mailwoman, i checked my mail and ran next door to the mail before my neighbor!

Ok well the most outrageous thing I have done for a freebie ended up not really being free. LUCKY magazine is notorious for offering things to the 1st 3,000 or whatever number they have chosen. Along with this they always set a time to start the promo. I wanted this particular freebie so bad but it started just as I had to be at work…..yes I went in late which cost me 20 minutes off my pay so was it really free? I guess thats a yes and no answer but I got it and it was so worth it! Now I dont work so I sit here all day and hit refresh over and over and over waiting for the newest freebies, it’s so wonderful!
    Thanks Freegrabber

Lots of good ideas on here! Without a doubt, lkersch, that is pretty fancy!

The most I have done is use my parents address to send a second freebee too…but you all have just opened my eyes to a whole new world.

    Hey FreeGrabber-
Do you have a spot we can send you a link to if we find a freebee that isn’t on your webpage? Just curious.

    Have a nice week everyone,

Okay, this story is a little embarrassing to admit: I take part in rebates for a nationally known drug store. Last month, my total rebate was to be over $30. However, I missed making it to the post office by 30 minutes on the deadline date. Anyway, I frantically thought of ways I could somewhow get this in the mail with the correct postmark. Couldn’t think of anything, short of hi-jacking a postal truck coming in for the day and begging them to take it in (the now closed post office) and postmarking it for me! I really considered this option, but just couldn’t get the nerve up to follow through. My feeble brain managed to come up with another idea. What if I went to the store, and bought a greeting card that had a RED envelope. The idea was that since most postmarks are in red, the rebate center wouldn’t be able to read the postmark date! Brilliant, I thought! Well, it must’ve been brilliant, because it worked! My rebate is confirmed and on the way! Okay, I’m embarrassed now!

There has been times when Walgreens has a thing that is free after rebate and I am unable to get it all month long. I keep calling and asking the store when they will get it and they tell me it is a popular item so it goes fast.

I come to work at least 30 minutes early every day monday thru friday to check the new freebies. I also come to the office everyday saturday morning early to check the freebies. I can’t wait until my family is off of the home computer, I might miss something good, so I have my own computer at the office. I miss breakfast almost everyday, freebies taste better to me than eggs and grits!
Thank you so much for this wonderful site. Priscilla

When I found out I was pregnant I signed up for every formula website I could find for free samples. Then I used different emails and my work address, then my parents, then I even had my best friend do it! I also went to Walmart 3x one day when they were having their baby week and got about 30 free diaper samples along with baby shampoo samples. Ummm… I’ve sent emails to make-up companies asking about a new product and they almost always send me a free sample, letters to manufacturers praising a product will garner a coupon sometimes.

When I was younger, I would go to construction sites and find the bottles of soda that had contests going on. Like the ones where you collected letters to spell things or codes and such to enter online. My friends and I would walk through the houses (No Trespassing) to find the bottles. I shudder to think how many of the those bottle caps my parents must have found…

However, our mail man is terrible and most of the time, we do not get the mail that is addressed correctly! So, It doesn’t always work out!
I must say that this is my favorite website!!
    Thank you so much!

But, so I don’t seem like a big hog, I use the extra freebies in prize packages for contests on my website.
