By far it has to be the toilet tissue roll extender. I thought what a great item…only to discover I should have investigated if it would work in my home. Incorrect type of toilet tissue dispenser in my home. I did, however, find a home for it!

I order all of the toiletry samples I can and donate most of them to shelters that are collecting. They prefer to get travel and trial size items as they are more tranportable for the people who need them! As for all the other random samples I find I can’t use, I have a dad who loves to collect things just in case he needs them, so I can always give them to him!

I will usually only order freebies that I can’t use. In the event that I ordered a freebie I have no use for, it usually is because I know someone who can and will give that freebie to them when it comes in.

I used to order everything, whether I needed it or not. That stopped however, when I received my free sample of rubber mulch. What the heck was I thinking? Now I only order the things I know I’ll use.

I try to only order what I really want but sometimes I get caught up in the fun and order some strange things that I have no use for. I have a big box and I do try to donate and share the wealth. Plus the travel size toiletries are great for traveling or if you run out and haven’t had a chance to go shopping

I just get freebies for the heck of it. It is fun getting stuff in the mail! I am looking foward to getting the mail the whole day! IT IS SO EXCITING!!! What I do with the freebies that i get that i dont need, i dont know. They just lay around in my house and sooner or later, i throw them out. Most of the freebies are useful to me though!

Nope. I never request freebies that I or my family can’t use. I know there only a limited number of quanity for each freebie and I feel better knowing that I’m not taking a freebie that could go to someone who could use it.

I only order freebies I can use. Sometimes, I order freebies others I know can use, but just rarely (my mom is big on ordering freebies for herself and everyone she knows).
I used to order anything that was free just because it was free and it created a lot of clutter. I never would get around to donating extra freebies to shelters or using them in gifts and they would just go bad (especially toiletry type items). I find I always use shampoo/conditioner freebies but almost never the skincare/makeup ones, so I quit ordering them.

I used to order free things I didn’t need now I try to at least consider whether I or my family and friends might need it,then I’ll at least send it to there house.
Part of my freebie etiquette is that if its a charity of some sort or would put a strain on a non profit agency,or if I’d have to lie to get it free,then I figure it’s not worth it,then I’m able to respect the freebies I do get more.
I live in low income housing and we’re all on a budget here so we established a freebie table in our apartment complex lobby,and thats where all my unusable freebies end up.

i have a huge basket of samples and whenever somebody comes over i ask if they need or want anything out of it. i order samples just to order cause they are free but i use alot too. and i also tell people that see all my samples and ask how do i get them i tell to go here. some people laugh when they see all the samples and ask why do i do it i tell because its free stuff and u cant pass up free stuff.

I order samples to make toiletry bags for vacations. That saves time, space, and money since we can each take a small bag that has everything we need - samples of soap, toothpaste, shampoo/conditioner, moisturizer, etc. I also keep any extra samples that don’t get used at home and bring them to my classroom - you never know when you could be teaching a lesson that calls for a color-wheel magnet (just an example of one of the items I got and didn’t need at home, but was able to use in the classroom)!

I have to admit that I sometimes send for freebies I don’t really need, just to amuse myself on days I am bored. But for the most part, I order free catalogs that I can’t use, but my 6 yr. old son and husband love to look through (all kinds of tool magazines and such.) We both win — I love ordering them and getting the mail, and they love reading them!

I think that a good idea for a contest would be to write a comment about the most extraordinary act of kindness or love that you have ever witnessed. It could be something that has been done for you or something you have witnessed a total stranger do or even something you have done yourself.

I usually do fill out for samples that I don’t personally use if I know someone who will use them. For example I fill out for the dog and cat food samples for my sisters. Everybody usually has someone they can give the samples to.

Since the very beginning I have only ordered things that I can use myself or that a member of my immediate household can use.
I figure why send away for something I don’t want and need when there might be someone who has use for it.
So far I have received only one thing that I couldn’t use and had to give away to my mom (Hanes underwear - TOTALLY wrong size even though I ordered my size).

When I first stumbled onto this site (and WOW this place is Wonderful!) I backtracked thru over 130 pages of samples signing up for every one of them that I could use. Being an at home Mother of 2, who’s husband just got laid off, I get every usefull freebie I can. The ones I don’t need I don’t order.

I work at an assisted living home. I take the samples to the people and they are very thankful to get them. Most of them there family has forgot them or they can not get around to even get to the stores. So mine go to good use….

I made Christmas stockings for everyone in our family ( including the men) and took all the free items I have received thru the year and put them in the stockings. Everyone loves to see what they got and they get so much use out of them. Its been a BIG success in my family!

I always say “if it is free, it is me” - I am addicted to free things. If I bring home one more free bag clip with a company logo on it - my husband might go over the edge! (we don’t even eat chips! - but I am creative in using these - now I put magnets on the back and hang the kids art on the fridge). I do donate a lot - especially toiletries.
