I went to two K-marts and they refused to honor this certificate. I also spoke to a neighbor who went to a different K-mart and he received the same reaction. Seems K-mart wants to take your money but not give you something in return.

I went to Kmart today and they gave me lot trouble but I did get a free bag of candy.

The coupon says Limit 1. It doesn’t specify if it is one per coupon, one per person, one per household, etc. In my experience with other coupons it means Limit 1 per coupon. Well, my Kmart said it means Limit 1 per person, per visit.

As far as Kmart refusing the coupon, I was told from a manager at my Kmart that Kmart Stores does not accept printed coupons because the Clearing House wont accept the coupons and reimburse Kmart the money. But, it says right on the coupon, DO NOT SEND TO CLEARING HOUSE, and then below it has instructions for the Sales Associate.

The coupon is directly from the Kmart website (www.kmart.com/ue/home/100807_freeCandy.pdf), therefore it is valid. This coupon is not a COPY of a coupon from a Sunday paper for example, which would void the coupon. The coupon is directly printed from the website which makes it VALID.

Also, when the sales associate scans the coupon, it goes through, but if he/she tries to scan it more than once per transaction they get an error. One coupon per person, per visit, per transaction.

flash39, I would go back to your Kmart and tell them that the coupon is directly from Kmart.com and the only way to get the coupon is to print it.

After having a horrific customer service experience related to this coupon at my local Kmart, I spoke (over the phone)with a representative of Kmart Holdings customer service. She was able to confirm for me that this IS A VALID COUPON put out on the web by Kmart intended for customer use. They have had a number of problems related to this promotion at the store level, which they are working to correct. They are very sorry for any inconvenience to customers, and I encourage everyone who has had a problem to call and report it. The customer service phone number can be found on the Kmart website.

Similar situation here in Mason City, Iowa. After lenghty discussion between several employee’s they finally concented to only accept the coupon if I would agree to only select a small bag of plain M & M. Nothing else would be acceptable to them

Well I’m glad it’s not just my Kmart that’s ridiculous. Mine had a sign out today that said they were not accepting the coupon anymore. So from the 8th – 30th they accepted the coupon but on the 31st, the day of Halloween, and the day before everything goes on sale anyway, my Kmart decides they aren’t going to honor the coupon.

Note to Kmart: Clarify your terms and conditions on your coupons. And let the managers and employees know about the coupon so they don’t have to give the cutomers a hard time.
